Owncast Sentry
Owncast Sentry is a Matrix bot which delivers timely notifications when Owncast streams go live. It offers a reliable and convenient way to follow Owncast streams, filling the gap left by other tools where notifications can be late or missed entirely. Notifications are typically delivered within one minute of a stream starting so you can catch your favorite streamers right from the start.
Usage
A public instance of Owncast Sentry is available and free to use. All you need is a Matrix account to get started.
- In your preferred Matrix client, start a new direct message chat with
@owncastsentry:logal.devor invite it to an existing room. Owncast Sentry will automatically accept the invitation.
Invite Owncast Sentry - To subscribe to a stream, send a message with the following format:
!subscribe <stream domain>- For example, to subscribe to
stream.logal.dev, send the following message:!subscribe stream.logal.dev
- For example, to subscribe to
- That's it! You can repeat the command multiple times to subscribe to multiple streams in the same room.
